Bashundhara Kings lifted their fourth Bashundhara Group Federation Cup title after defeating Dhaka Abahani in a thrilling penalty shootout at Mymensingh’s Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium.

The match resumed for the remaining 15 minutes, as it had been halted at 1-1 after 105 minutes on 22 April due to insufficient lighting.

Neither team managed to score during the resumed play, leading the game to a penalty shootout.

All five penalty takers for Bashundhara Kings—Jonathan Fernandez, Sheikh Morsalin, Tapu Barman, Insan Hossain, and Daciel—successfully converted their shots against Abahani goalkeeper Mitul Marma.

Raphael Augusto, Sabuz Hossain, and Mirajul Islam scored for Abahani, but Emeka Ogbugh’s effort was saved by Mehedi Hasan Shrabon, securing the title for the Kings.

The two sides are set to face off again on 2 May in a Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League match.
