A Dhaka tribunal yesterday extended the bail of Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus and three directors of Grameen Telecom until May 23 in a labour law violation case.
MA Awal, Justice of the Labour Appellate Tribunal, passed the order yesterday morning.
Earlier this morning, Dr yunus and three others appeared before the Labour Tribunal and sought bail. Dr Yunus’s lawyer Barrister Abdullah Al Mamun filed the petition.
On January 1, the labour court sentenced Grameen Telecom Chairman Dr Yunus and three others to six months’ jail for violating labour law. On January 28, four people, including Dr Yunus, secured bail.
