Following widespread debate and criticism, changes are being made to the uniforms of Bangladesh’s law enforcement agencies.
Initially, members of the Metropolitan Police will receive the new uniforms, with district police officers across the country set to follow in phases.
Starting November 15, all metropolitan police personnel, including those in Dhaka (DMP), will begin wearing the updated attire. District police units will receive theirs a bit later, said Deputy Inspector General (Logistics) of Police, Khondokar Nazmul Hasan.
According to the new introduction of the uniforms, the police will wear iron-coloured outfits, RAB will don olive-coloured uniform and Ansar forces will sport golden wheat-coloured attire.
