The law to provide special security to the family members of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been abolished.
On Monday, the president promulgated the “Security of Family Members of the Father of the Nation (Repeal) Ordinance, 2024,” scrapping the “Father of the Nation Family Members’ Security Act, 2009.”
On 29 August, the draft ordinance was given final approval in the advisory council meeting.
