A legal notice has been issued seeking an investigation and a travel ban on all advisers of the former interim government, including its Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister M Ashraful Islam sent the notice on Monday.

According to the notice, a sudden and severe outbreak of measles has spread across the country. It claims that more than a hundred children have died, while many others, including children and ordinary citizens, are infected and undergoing treatment in hospitals.

The notice further alleges irregularities in shifting vaccination services from the state system to the private sector. It calls for the formation of an investigation committee to examine the matter.

It also requests a travel ban on Dr Muhammad Yunus, Dr Asif Nazrul, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adilur Rahman Khan Shubhra, Nur Jahan Begum, Brigadier (Rtd.) Sakhawat Hossain, Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, former Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, and other relevant officials and former personal assistants until the investigation is completed.

Barrister Ashraful Islam said that he issued the notice not only as a Supreme Court lawyer but also as an organizer for the rule of law, democracy, accountability, and human rights.

The notice has been sent to the Cabinet Secretary, Health Secretary, Home Secretary, and other relevant authorities.

It urges the government to form an investigation committee and impose the travel ban within five days of receiving the notice, failing which legal action will be pursued.

The notice has been sent to the concerned ministries via registered post.
