Tarash Correspondent:

A schoolboy was killed by lightning strike in Sasthan village of Tarash upazila in Sirajganj district.

The deceased was identified as Proshanta Kumar, 14, son of Hiron Bashak of the village and also class-VIII student of a Solapara High School in the upazila.

The incident took place at around 3:30pm, while he was cutting paddy with some other people at a field nearby their house amid rain.

He was taken to Tarash upazila health complex, where the on duty doctors declared him dead, said local UP Member Bulon Chandra Boshak.
