The eighth edition of the London Bengali Film Festival (LBFF) will officially kick off from April 22-27 this year. The event will open on the inaugural day (April 22) with the UK premiere of Shankha Dasgupta’s debut directorial film “Priyo Maloti”.

Held at Barbican Cinema, the screening will mark a major highlight of this year’s festival. “Priyo Maloti'”, based on true events, is a poignant and gripping drama that follows the life of an expectant mother whose world is suddenly turned upside down.

The film stars noted actress Mehazabien Chowdhury, Nader Chowdhury, Azad Abul Kalam, Momena Chowdhury, Somu Chowdhury, Anisul Haque Borun, Shahjahan Samrat, and Rizvi Rizu, amongst others.

Moreover, following the screening, there will be an exclusive Q&A session with the director.
