Joint forces have arrested two more accused, including the main murderer, in Lt Tanjim Sarwar Nirjon murder case.
The accused–Nasir Uddin, 38, and Enamul Haque, 50– were arrested from Cox’s Bazar’s Chakaria upazila at about 5AM on Saturday.
Nasir is the prime accused of this murder. Two local firearms and three bullets were recovered from their possessions, said additional police super senior assistant director Md Abul Kalam Chowdhury.
In primary quizzing, Nasir and Enamul confessed to their involvement in the murder. They were handed over to Chakaria police, the police official added.
According to joint force sources, on September 23, Lt Tanjim caught Nasir with arms during a drive at Chakaria upazila. Then two to three Nasir’s accomplishes attack Tanjim. Then the army officer bravely resisted them and captured Nasir. At one stage, Nasir stabbed on Tanjim’s throat, leaving him dead on the spot.
After the incident Nasir and Enamul went into hiding and were planning to go abroad by waterways.
But on secret information, a team of joint force managed to arrest them early Saturday.
