District BNP held a rally in Madaripur on Friday demanding retention of its Organizing Secretary Shyama Obaid at her own position.

The rally was held on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway at around 10:00am led by Gaus-ur-Rahman, Member of District BNP and Organizing Secretary of Madaripur upazila BNP, while BNP leader Sarowar Hossain Hawlader, Abul Hossain, Kazi Jakir Hossain, Kamal Chowkider, Selim Shikder, Shahabul Shikder, Swechchhasebok Dal leader Ataur Rahman and Rasel Farazi among others were also present in the event.

The demonstrators also brought out a procession that marched the Dhaka-Barishal highway.

During the programme, the speakers said, Shyama Obaid is a sacrificing and evaluate leader of the BNP. But, she was suspended from her post centering an altercation with some miscreants, who were engaged in several anti-social activities in the guise of students during the anti-discrimination students movement. Her post has made suspended throughout a preplanned manner. This is why, BNP leaders and activists demand her reinstatement.
