International Desk:
An earthquake measuring magnitude 6.1 has struck the Iwate and Aomori prefectures in northern Japan, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
The epicentre of the quake was northern coastal part of Iwate Prefecture, the agency said.
However, no tsunami warning was issued.
Japan is frequently hit by earthquakes because of its location along the “Ring of Fire,” an arc of volcanoes and fault lines in the Pacific Basin, reports Reuters.
