A Correspondent, Khulna:

A mason died after falling of an under construction building in Khulna town on Saturday.

The incident took place around 1:15 PM at TV Cross Road area in the town.

The deceased was identified as Afaz Uddin, 40, son of Shahidul Islam, a residnet of the same area in the district.

According to locals, Afaz fell off the third floor of the under construction building while he was working there, leaving him critically injured on the spot.

Other workers rescued him from the spot and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment. He, at one stage, succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment of the hospital around 12:15 PM.

Being informed, a team of police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for a post-mortem examination, said Khulna Police Station officer-in-charge Hawlader Sanowar Hossain.

Legal process was underway in this connection, the OC added.
