Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, member of the BNP Standing Committee and former State Minister for Power said that, “The late Abdul Mannan Talukder was the banyan tree for Sirajganj politics. He was not just an Member of Parliament, but also a guardian of BNP leaders and activists. The irreparable loss we have suffered due to his death can never be compensated.”
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the memorial meeting and prayer Mahfil of the late MP Abdul Mannan Talukder organized by the district BNP at the Malshapara Graveyard Mosque in Sirajganj Municipality on Wednesday (July 30) at 5:00 pm.
Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku further said, Mannan Talukder was a decent, ethical and people-friendly politician. He made place in the hearts of people. May Allah grant him ‘Jannatul Ferdous’.
The memorial meeting along with the prayer Mahfil was conducted by Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu and was supervised by former town BNP General Secretary Munshi Zahid Alam.
Rahid Mannan Lenin, son of the late Mannan Talukder, spoke at the event. He said in an emotional voice that his father was always worried about the development of the country and the party workers. The only capital of his political life was the love of people.
District BNP Vice-President Makbul Hossain Chowdhury, Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana, Joint Secretary VP Shamim, Nur Kayem Sabuj, Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Sweet, Sadar Upazila BNP General Secretary Advocate Nazmul Islam, town BNP President Selim Bhuiyan, District Chhatra Dal President Junaid Hossain Sabuz and General Secretary Serazul Islam Seraj, along with various leaders and activists at the district and upazila levels, were also present at the meeting.
At the end of the programme, prayers were offered for the departed soul of the late leader.
