Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Sunday (Sept 29) predicted that light to moderate rain is likely to occur in most parts of the country.
According to the BMD bulletin, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, at a few places over Dhaka division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Moderately heavy to very heavy falls is likely to occur at several places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, said a met forecast valid for next 24 hours from 9am today.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country’s maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 34.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was 22.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 37 millimeters (mm) at Netrokona.
