After 33 days of sufferings, Tasnia (15), a student of Milestone School and College in Uttara, has died from burn injuries sustained in the Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash on the school premises.
She passed away at 7:55 am on Saturday at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, confirmed Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon at the institute.
Tasnia, an eighth-grade student from Madhukhali in Faridpur, suffered 37 percent burns in the accident. She had been admitted to the institute on July 21, the day of the crash.
On July 21, a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed at Milestone School and College in Diabari, Uttara. The Ministry of Health earlier reported 35 deaths in the incident. With Tasnia’s death, the toll has now risen to 36, most of them children.
