Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz missed the team’s first practice session in Sri Lanka due to fever, team management confirmed on Sunday.

The national team arrived in Galle on Saturday ahead of the opening Test against Sri Lanka, scheduled to begin on June 17.

However, Miraz was absent when the Tigers hit the nets for their first training session at the Galle International Stadium.

It remains to be seen whether the vice captain of the side will recover in time to be available for selection for the first Test.

Miraz is expected to play a key role with the ball in the spin-friendly conditions of Galle.
