Unidentified miscreants snatched an auto-van after killing its driver from Gothitha village under Sonakhara union of Raiganj upazila in Sirajganj district on Monday night.

The victim was identified as Kasim Uddin, 50, son of Shafiqul Islam of Beelpar village near Nimgachhi Baza’ar in the same upazila.

Being informed by locals, police reached to the spot and recovered the body from a water body in the village. Later, it was sent to Bangamata Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj for autopsy. A case was lodged with the respective police station in this connection.

Victim family members said, Kasim went out of his house with the auto-van on Monday and did not return to home at the following night.

Police suspected that, miscreants snatched his auto-van after killing him at any time of the Monday night.
