Khaled Hasan, the central co-coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and a student of Dhaka University’s Arabic Department for the 2021-22 academic year, returned to his dormitory on Tuesday night after reportedly going missing for four days. However, his mental condition is not good after his return. He is unable to tell anyone anything. He has been kept at Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital for treatment.

Coordinator Abdul Quader informed this while speaking to media on Wednesday (December 25) morning.

Abdul Quader said, “Khaled Hasan is afraid to tell anyone anything. When I wanted to talk to him privately, he told me about his disappearance.”

He said that according to Khaled, he lost consciousness in the rickshaw while going from TSC to Doel Chattar on Friday afternoon. When he regained consciousness later, he found himself in a microbus near a petrol pump in Sunamganj. At that time, there were two to three other people with him. Later, he lost consciousness again.

When Khaled regained consciousness for the second time, he found himself somewhere in Panchagarh. The microbus was still running.

When he regained consciousness for the third time on Tuesday, he found himself lying on the side of a road in Barishal. Later, someone put him in a car and he arrived in Dhaka.

Quader also said, “We brought him to Dhaka Medical College.”

Professor Dr. Md. Faruk Shah, the principal of Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque Hall, said, “I spoke to Khaled. He wants to say something but is afraid. He looks very weak. Later, when I brought the doctor, the doctor said that his blood pressure had increased. Now he is being taken to Dhaka Medical College. When he recovers, he will be able to tell everyone the details of the incident.”

Khaled’s family reported him missing on Friday. According to the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Khaled was last seen early that morning while participating in a 21 km marathon in the Jalsindi residential area of Purbachal. After the race, he dropped off a friend in Farmgate and returned to the university on his motorcycle, arriving at his dormitory at 10:43 AM, as captured by CCTV footage.

CCTV footage also revealed that Khaled’s dorm room was locked from the outside. Friends later unlocked it and found his Android phone inside.
