Police have recovered the body of a young man from a lake in Bogura three days after he went missing.
The body was found floating in the inside the Majhira Cantonment area under Shajahanpur upazila around 11 am on Sunday (June 29).
The dead has been identified as Hasin Raihan Soumik, 30, son of Toufiqur Rahman from Jaleshwaritala area of Bogura city. He was a graduate of Computer Science from Dhaka University and was preparing to pursue higher studies in the United States.
According to family sources, Soumik had left his residence on the evening of Thursday (June 26) for a walk and never returned. Since then, he had been missing, and his mobile phone remained switched off.
His father filed a general diary with Bogura Sadar Police Station the following morning (Friday, June 27).
Soumik’s ancestral home is at Bochharpukur village under Sonatala upazila in Bogura.
Shajahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam confirmed the incident, saying the body has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
