A Dhaka court has granted a three-day remand for two more suspects in connection with the mitford murder near Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka on Wednesday.

The detainee, Md Parvez and Md Zahirul Islam were arrested earlier that day from Keraniganj.

Metropolitan Magistrate Atikur Rahman issued the order after hearing a 10-day remand plea from the case’s investigating officer, Kotwali Police Station OC Md Moniruzzaman. No defense lawyers were present during the hearing.

Parvez and Zahirul So far, 11 suspects have been arrested in the case. Among them, five- Lomba Monir, Alomgir, Titon, Sajib and Mahin, have confessed to their involvement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

According to the case statement, Sohag, 39, a scrap trader from Rani Ghosh Lane in Old Dhaka, was brutally murdered near the gates of Mitford Hospital on July 9.

He hailed from East Namabari village in Keraniganj. The victim’s elder sister filed a murder case with Kotwali Police Station, while police filed a separate arms case.
