Entertainment Desk:
FS Nayeem and Rafiath Rashid Mithila, a popular duo from the TV drama scene, are now set to hit the big screen with their upcoming film “Jole Jwole Tara”. Directed by Arun Chowdhury, the movie has been in the works since the two actors signed on three years ago.
The project, which received a government grant for the 2020-21 fiscal year, began filming in October 2021 in Manikganj during the pandemic. Despite wrapping up in just three weeks, the film’s release has faced several delays. Last year, it was even scheduled for release, but the plan was shelved due to the mass student-led protests in July. Now, the director intends to release the film on Valentine’s Day.
Director Arun shared, “It’s a romantic story, which is why we’ve planned the release around Valentine’s Day. We’ve locked in February 14 as the release date and made all preparations accordingly. With Ramadan approaching, we’re a bit anxious about the timing.”
“This will be the first time audiences will see Nayeem and Mithila’s on-screen chemistry in a movie. The romantic and humane story will definitely appeal to viewers,” he added.
For Nayeem, this marks his return to the silver screen after over a decade. His last film appearance was in “Jaago”. Speaking about his return, Nayeem said, “This will be the first time audiences see me as a lead on the big screen. If it is released on Valentine’s Day, the film will be of extra significance. Our story is about relationships, and every song in the film is romantic, offering viewers a unique experience.”
Nayeem also shared his thoughts on working with Mithila again, saying that they had previously acted together in TV dramas and their experience in this film was exceptional.
“We’ve been close friends since 2007 when we were both focused on music. Our chemistry has always been great. We’ve tried to offer something new to the audience. The character I play in this film is unlike anything I’ve done before—it is a 100 percent different from my previous roles.”
The film additionally features performances by Fazlur Rahman Babu, Monira Mithu, Azad Abul Kalam, and Noor Imran Mithu.
