Actor Mosharraf Karim, despite recently undergoing surgery to remove a tumour from his ankle, has continued promoting his latest film “Chokkor 302”. He made an appearance in a wheelchair, with his leg in a cast, at a screening at Bashundhara Star Cineplex in the capital, where he interacted with the audience and spoke about the project.

Earlier, in a promotional video for the film, Mosharraf Karim was seen tied to a chair by director Sharaf Ahmed Jibon, in a humorous take on the challenges of coordinating the actor’s schedule for promotional activities.

In the video, he is heard saying, “The film will be released, and promotions will go on.”

Staying true to his word, the “Mohanagar” star has continued to appear at screenings, drawing admiration for his dedication in the face of illness.

“Chokkor 302”, a government-granted film, was released in several cineplexes across the country on Eid day.

Two days before the release, a premiere show was held at Star Cineplex’s Centre Point branch near the airport. Audiences were surprised to see the actor enter the venue in a wheelchair, no longer his usual self.

Speaking at the event, Mosharraf Karim shared that after the surgery, an abscess had developed on the same leg. The abscess eventually burst, leaving a wound that required ongoing care.

Addressing his ongoing hall visits despite health concerns, the actor said, “Being here, I feel better. No one enjoys being confined to bed. I’ve had to stay in bed for several days now, and I will need more rest in the coming days. Even if it causes me some discomfort, it’s worth meeting everyone. Watching the film together was an experience I’ll remember.”

From its opening day, “Chokkor 302” has garnered the attention of moviegoers, with audience numbers steadily increasing. Most shows yesterday ran houseful.

Regarding the growing interest in “Chokkor”, Mosharraf Karim remarked, “After watching the premiere, I strongly felt that audiences would connect with this film. And that’s exactly what’s happening. Viewers are now saying they can’t get tickets — this is our biggest motivation. I’m deeply grateful that audiences are embracing the film and enjoying it. It feels like, ‘we will run.'”

He added, “There are international films playing at the cineplexes too, but people are choosing to watch Bengali films. I salute this mindset.”

“Chokkor 302” is a murder mystery, with Mosharraf Karim portraying an investigation officer. The cast also includes Intekhab Dinar, Suman Anwar, Tareen Jahan, Moushumi Nag, Rawnak Hasan, Shashwata Dutta, and Rikita Nandini Shimu, among others.
