A woman and her minor son were killed, and her husband was injured as a drum truck rammed into their motorbike in Kushtia district headquarters on Friday morning.

The deceased were Ity Khatun, 30, her three-year-old son Ahnaf Ibrahim, and injured husband Abdul Kader Siddiqui, 40.

Chaudhas highway police outpost’s In-Charge Joydeb said the accident occurred around 9am when the speeding drum truck crashed into the bike carrying them in Trimohini Bypass intersection.

The accident left the mother and the son dead on the spot, he said, adding that the husband sustained injuries slightly.

The bodies were sent to Kushtia General Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

The hospital’s resident physician Dr Imam Hossain said the injured was discharged after giving first aid.
