A motorcyclist was killed in a road accident on Thursday morning at Bhuiyangati bus stand area along the Dhaka-Bogura highway in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj.

The deceased has been identified as Khogen Chandra Mahato, son of Nodindranath Mahato, a resident of Uttar Faridpur village under Dhamainagar Union of the upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Khogen was traveling by motorcycle from Chandaikona toward Hatikumrul. When he reached Palli Bidyut area near Bhuiyangati bus stand, a Bogura-bound bus struck his motorcycle, killing him on the spot.

Abdur Rauf, Officer-in-Charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, confirmed the news and said the body will be sent for autopsy. He added that the bus involved in the accident has been seized and legal proceedings are underway.
