A motorcyclist was killed on Tuesday after being hit by a covered van in Rampura, Dhaka.

The deceased was SM Moazzem Hossain, 45.

The accident occurred on Monday around 11:45pm near Gate No 4 of the TV building in Rampura. Sub-Inspector (SI) Masud Rana of Rampura Police Station confirmed the matter.

According to SI Masud Rana, SM Moazzem Hossain, a civil engineer, was returning home on his motorcycle when a covered van hit him from behind, killing him on the spot.

Moazzem, originally from Paytala village in Shibpur, Narsingdi, was living with his family in North Shahjahanpur, Dhaka.

SI Masud Rana further said that the body was recovered from the scene at 12:15am and sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy after completing legal procedures.
