A Dhaka court has placed three accused in a case lodged over the murder of Awami League lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar of Jenaidah-4 in Kolkata, India, on a fresh five-day remand each.
The accused are Syed Amanullah Aman alias Shimul Bhuiyan, Faisal Ali Saji alias Tanvir Bhuiyan, and Celesty Rahman.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mollik passed the order on Friday after police had produced them before the court.
MP Azim went to Kolkata on 11 May for medical treatment and remained untraced since 14 May.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on 22 May said the MP was brutally killed at a flat in New Town, near Kolkata. A case was filed on 22 May following the death of Azim.
Earlier, the court granted an eight-day remand to the three accused arrested in connection with the murder.
