The mystery of the murder of a husband and wife with two children of the same family in Niamatpur in Naogaon has been solved and three people have been arrested.
The knife and razor blade used in the murder have been recovered. Six people, including a cousin, nephew and brother-in-law, participated in the murder motivated by greed for wealth.
Naogaon Police Superintendent Mohammad Tariqul Islam made this known at a press conference at the Police Superintendent’s office at 2:00 pm on Wednesday.
The arrested are Sabuj Rana, son of deceased Habibur Rahman’s sister Halima Khatun, and Shahidul Islam, husband of another sister Shirina Akhter, and her son Shahin Mondal.
Police Superintendent Mohammad Tariqul Islam said – Namir Uddin’s wife died a few years ago. He has one son and five daughters. After his wife died, he wrote down 13 bighas of land including the house and 10 kathas of land to his son and each daughter. Writing down more property to Habibur, he created a dispute with his sister, brother-in-law and nephew. The dispute had been going on for several days. A village arbitration meeting was also held regarding this.
Four members of the same family were brutally murdered in a planned manner due to a dispute over land. Six people took part in this murder. Among them, Sabuj Rana, nephew of the deceased Habibur Rahman, and brother-in-law Shahidul Islam and his son Shahin Mandal took part.
