2 got released from captivity by digging tunnel

A cloud of mystery has formed after escaping of two captives by digging tunnel from a secrete captivity of an abandoned house at Sonarampur village in Raiganj upazila of Sirajganj district.
“Nothing is possible to say right now without investigating into the incident. But, investigation has already started in this connection,” said Asaduzzaman, Officer in Charge of Raiganj police station adding that, one of the suspects named Nazmul Islam Arafat of the same village was also picked up by DB police on Friday for interrogation.”
Those, who claimed that they got released from the captivity by excavating tunnel on Thursday, are: Shilpi Khatun, 50, wife of Monsur Ali of Lakshmi Bisnuprosad village and Abdul Zobbar, 75, son of late Rustom Sheikh of Purbapaikpara village in the upazila. They went missing about six months ago. The elderly man Zobbar was admitted to hospital after releasing from captivity as he fell into sick.
Agitating mobs torched the house of arrested Arafat after the incident spreading out on Friday.
On information, police and army personnel visited the spot and brought the situation under control.
Shilpi Khatun told the media, she was kidnapped by some people including Palli (village) doctor Arafat Hossain, local Union Parishad Member Shariful Islam Sharif, Hafizul Islam and Panna about six months ago centering a dispute over land. Elderly man Zobbar was also kept with her in the same place. The kidnapper used to push injections to make them unconsciousness. After a fanatic effort, she was able to come out of the bunker by digging soil on Thursday.
Locals said that, a syndicate of criminals might have been involved with various type of crimes including kidnapping, selling of kidney and various organs of human bodies centering the abandoned house owned by Sumon Islam, son of Zahurul Islam of the mentioned village. Many of the villagers termed the abandoned house as a ‘torture cell’ or ‘Aynaghor’ of modern criminals.
