Director Masud Hasan Ujjal is bringing to the silver screen the legendary character of Banalata Sen from the poetry of Jibanananda Das, the iconic poet of “Ruposhi Bangla.” In this film, Masuma Rahman Nabila will portray the role of Banalata Sen.

Filming for Banalata Sen has been completed, and preparations for its release are now underway.

Inspired by Jibanananda’s poetry, the film is based on an original story. The story, screenplay, and dialogues have all been written by the director himself.

The character of Jibanananda Das is portrayed by actor Khairul Basar.

Other cast members include Khairul Basar, Sohel Mondol, Naziba Bashar, Priyontee Urbee, Rupanty Akid and Sharif Siraj, among others.

Director Ujjal shared that Jibanananda Das is immortalized in Bengal due to his genuine love for the land. Creating a film based on his work is a matter of pride, as it provides an opportunity to pay tribute to the poet.
