Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official said on Saturday national team’s logistics manager Nafees Iqbal, also the former national cricketer, will be taken to Bangkok today (Sunday) for better treatment as he suffered a brain stroke on 5 July.
Nafees reached Dhaka on Friday evening by air ambulance and was admitted to Bangladesh Specialized Hospital in Dhaka.
“He (Nafees) is stable now but his family wants to take him to Bangkok for better treatment on 7 June,” BCB physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury told the Daily Sun on Friday.
Nafees recently toured USA and West Indies with the national team for the recently concluded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Nafees, who played 11 Tests and 16 ODIs for Bangladesh between 2003 and 2006, is the elder brother of star cricketer Tamim Iqbal and a nephew of former national cricketer Akram Khan.
