The much-awaited trailer of Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s Thandel was launched on January 28 in Visakhapatnam. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film is tipped to be a patriotic love story with a lot of scope for drama. Thandel, which is slated for a grand release on February 7, is one of the most anticipated films from Telugu cinema.

On January 28, Naga Chaitanya shared the trailer of the film and wrote, “A story of love, courage & patriotism See you all in cinemas Feb 7th! #Dhullakotteyala #ThandelonFeb7th (sic).”

The two-hour-twenty-two-minute-long trailer chronicles the life of Raju (Naga Chaitanya) and Bujji (Sai Pallavi). Raju is a fisherman, who is deeply in love with Sai Pallavi, who is his anchor. During one of his expeditions into the sea, Raju gets arrested by Pakistani forces for crossing their borders.

The film will focus on Raju’s time in a Pakistan prison and how Bujji deals with the situation. Thandel’s story is based on a real-life incident that took place in 2018.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel marks the second collaboration between Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi after director Sekhar Kammula’s Love Story. The film also marks the reunion of Chaitanya and Chandoo after Premam. Thandel has cinematography by Shamdat and music by Devi Sri Prasad.
