The Election Commission (EC) will finalise the draft action plan for the 13th national election and publish the complete roadmap this week, EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said on Monday (August 18).
Talking to reporters at the EC headquarters in Dhaka’s Agargaon, he also said that hearings on the delimitation of 82 constituencies will begin on 24 August and continue for four consecutive days.
Regarding the action plan, the senior secretary said the number of polling centres would not increase. “Each polling centre will serve 3,000 voters.
“In addition, where previously 500 voters cast ballots in a booth, now 600 voters will be able to vote,” he said.
He further mentioned that letters have been sent to field-level offices to verify the activities of 22 political parties that have applied for registration.
