The online (PDF) versions of all textbooks for the 2026 academic year at the Primary, Ibtedayi, Secondary, and Dakhil levels have been uploaded to the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) website on Sunday.

Education Adviser Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar and Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar inaugurated the programme titled “Uploading the Soft Copies of Textbooks for the 2026 Academic Year” on the website at the NCTB auditorium.

On the NCTB website (www.nctb.gov.bd), the online versions of all textbooks (a total of 647) for the 2026 academic year are now available.

Education Adviser CR Abrar stated that to print the textbooks accurately is a challenge for us from previous year experiences, but we are committed this year (2026 academic yearbook) to quality content.

“Faulty books will not be delivered to our students; it is the bottom line. We are trying our best; that’s why today we are celebrating,” he added.

The NCTB needs to pay attention to whether the quality of the content and the way it is presented are appropriate for children, said Primary Adviser Dr Bidhan Ranjan at this event.

NCTB Chairman (in charge) Mahbubul Haque Patwari said that it would be possible to supply all textbooks to educational institutions by January 15.

“The textbooks were uploaded online before the start of the academic year to reduce students’ learning gaps,” he said.

It was also informed at the event that primary and ibtedayi students will receive 100 percent of their textbooks on January 1.

Students in classes six and nine will receive their hundred percent textbooks on January 1, while students of classes seven and eight will receive 70 percent and 60 percent of their textbooks, respectively, on January 1.

Secondary and Higher Education Division (SHED) secretary Rehena Parvin, Technical and Madrasah Education Division (TEMD) secretary Rafiqul Islam, and Ministry of Primary and Mass Education secretary Abu Taher Masud Rana were present at the occasion.
