Law Adviser to the Interim Government Dr. Asif Nazrul Saturday said that the culture of harassing people using the judiciary must be overcome. During the fascist government of Sheikh Hasina, many injustices have been committed by the judiciary. It should be ensured that there is no more injustice from the judiciary.

He said these during the Chief Justice’s address to the lower court judges at the Inner Garden of the Supreme Court on Saturday (September 21).

“A judiciary should be established where people get justice. Harassment of people with absentee cases is not supported by this Interim Government. We need to get out of the culture of harassment by pouring out cases. In this case, judges should see that citizens are not harassed unnecessarily,” said Asif Nazrul.

Pointing out that the Interim Government evaluated merit, competence and honesty, Asif Nazrul said that “the appointment of the current Chief Justice is a big proof of that”.

Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed will announce a roadmap for the judiciary from this event.
