Due to the unwanted role in the anti-discrimination movement, the image of the police is widely questioned. 44 policemen died in the violence by the agitated people. After that, police activities were stopped for several days across the country. However, despite the efforts of the administration, the police have returned to work, but they are still not in their normal role. The decision to change the uniform and logo was taken to restore the image of the police. This time, new information about the change in police uniform and logo has been revealed.

According to police headquarters sources, out of about 12 units of the police, only the uniforms and logos of the district and metropolitan police will be changed.

It is reported that till now 6 colors and 10 logos have been shortlisted for the new police uniform. Uniforms are likely to be light gray or light blue (light blue). However, no uniform colour has been finalized.

Sources of the committee formed for uniform and logo change mention that a few meetings were held regarding the change of police uniform and logo. All the members of the committee were present at the meeting.

The meeting sources learned that the colour of the uniform was discussed in case of changing the uniform. Initially, many colors were discussed, however, finally, 6 colours were shortlisted. The colours of the uniforms of other forces are also being considered in finalizing so that the colours of the new police uniforms do not match the colours of the uniforms of any other forces in the country. Considering these issues, work is underway to finalize the colors.

Committee sources said that the colours chosen for the police uniform are “light blue, light gray and light green”. However, many designs are seen in light gray and light blue, and several colours over blue as well. The committee has given importance to light colours in finalizing the colors.

Weather-appropriate fabric

After finalizing the color of the uniform, the fabric will be made as per that. After making the cloth, it will be checked whether it is compatible with the country’s environment and all types of weather, and the quality of the cloth will also be checked.

Fabric tests will also look at whether the colours of the new uniforms are suitable for the force and whether members will feel comfortable after wearing them. Batch designs and colors will be finalized after the final decision on uniform colours. The batch colour will be finalized by coordinating with the uniform.

Design to fix after finalizing colours

Committee sources said that since the colour of the uniform has not been finalized yet, the committee cannot finalize the design of the dress right now. However, several designs for the dress have already been seen. Whether these designs will be finalized or not has not been decided yet. The design will be fixed after the colours are finalized.

It is also undecided whether the uniform will be “camouflage” (disguising something through the use of coloured paint) or a “plane design”. The design will be finalized after the colour of the uniform is finalized.

Decision regarding logo

Sources at the police headquarters said that besides changing the uniform, the demand for changing the logo of the force has also been raised. This committee is also working to change the logo. In the second meeting of the committee, about 40 logos were discussed. These 40 logos came to the committee from various levels of police. In the second meeting, 10 of the 40 logos were shortlisted. A new logo will be finalized from this.
