Home Affairs Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Wednesday said that there has been no rise in militancy across the country since the interim government took office.
“Since we assumed responsibility, there has been no resurgence of militancy. We will work together with the people to resolve any issues that arise,” the home adviser said.
He made these remarks today while visiting several police stations as part of Eid greetings and inspection activities.
“The conditions of the police stations are quite good,” said the adviser. “We are working to establish permanent stations on our own land as soon as possible. Having police stations in better locations will benefit both the public and the force.”
Referring to the transitional period before the interim government took charge, he added, “After August 5, there was a period when there was effectively no government. Since assuming office, we have been improving the law and order situation, and this will continue. The overall situation is reasonably satisfactory, but there is room for further improvement, which we are gradually addressing.”
