BNP’s Standing Committee member and former state minister for power Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, BNP is a disciplined and democratic party. So, there is no room for terrorism, corruption and extortion in this party.”
He told this, while speaking as the chief guest at an important view exchange meeting organized by the District BNP’s Convention Preparation Committee at the Bhashani Auditorium on EB Road in Sirajganj town on Wednesday (July 16, 2025) noon.
Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku also said, “BNP is now united under the leadership of the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. Following his instructions, we have to prepare for the movement and struggle of the future and make the party stronger.”
He called on the leaders and activists to forget all differences and work combining shoulder to shoulder.
The former minister also warned that, if any leader or activist of the party is found to be involved in corruption, anomalies, extortion or terrorism, he or she will be permanently expelled from the party and strict action would be taken against him or her as per the conventional laws of the country.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Amirul Islam Khan Alim, convener of the Sirajganj District Convention Preparation Committee and BNP Central Executive Committee’s Joint Organizing Secretary (Rajshahi Division).
The main speaker at the meeting was freedom fighter Abdus Salam, Advisor to the BNP Chairperson.
The speakers highlighted the current political situation in the country and called on the leaders and activists to play an active role in the struggle to restore democracy.
BNP Central Executive Committee member and Sirajganj District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu was also present there as a special guest.
The meeting was jointly moderated by District BNP Senior Joint General Secretary VP Shamim and Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Sweet.
Sirajganj District BNP Vice-President Nazmul Hasan Talukder Rana, Bir Freedom Fighter Azizur Rahman Dulal, Office Secretary Tanvir Mahmud Palash and renowned singer and party member Kanak Chapa among others were also present at the event.
