Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Mokhles ur Rahman has announced that strict measures will be taken against administrative officials who played a controversial role in the 12th National Election.

Speaking to journalists after visiting the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed and meeting with his family in Pirganj, Rangpur, on Sunday, he said, “Fourteen secretaries, including those involved in controversies, have already been transferred or designated as officers on special duty. No one involved in the Abu Sayeed murder case will be exempt from accountability.”

He also said that a United Nations team is currently assisting the local investigation into the casualties of the July-August Revolution.

Several high-ranking officials were present during the visit, including Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Rezaul Maksud Zahedi, Director General of the Bangladesh Haor and Wetland Development Directorate Md Akhtaruzzaman, Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Ajmal Hossain; Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali and Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal.
