A passenger has died after a bus overturned and fell into a ditch in Sirajganj’s Kazipur upazila. Four more passengers were injured.

The accident occurred at around 8:30 am on Friday (June 20) in the Sonamukhi Bazar area of ​​the Sirajganj-Kazipur regional road. The deceased was identified as Aynal Haque, 58, a rice trader, and son of Abdul Haque of Pachgachi village in the upazila.

Kazipur Police Station OC Nure Alam said that, a bus of Zenin Paribahan was going to Dhaka’s Konabari area from Kazipur upazila with a number of passengers. When they reached the spot, the bus lost control, overturned and fell into a ditch.

Passenger Aynal died on the spot. At that time, the wife of the deceased’s son, Mim Khatun, 27, her 10-year-old child, and Hasi Khatun, 48, of Gachabari village, were seriously injured.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to the hospital.

The OC also said that, upon receiving the news, police and fire service members visited the scene. However, since we do not have any equipment to rescue the bus that fell into the ditch, the matter has been reported to the higher level.
