The price of potatoes in the kitchen market has not yet decreased. At the retail level, potatoes are still sold at 70-75 taka per kg. However, the price of onions has come down. In a week, the price of onions has decreased by 10-15 taka per kg. In addition, the price is also falling due to the increase in the supply of winter vegetables.
Retail and wholesale traders say that the price of potatoes is still high at the cold storage. Due to this, the price of the potato has not come down in the retail market either. Due to the lack of strict supervision by the local administration at the cold storage level, it is not possible to reduce the price of potatoes. On the other hand, the supply of imported onions in the market has increased. This has reduced the price of the product.
Traders say that the price of potatoes has been high in the market for about three weeks. At the beginning of this month, the retail price of potatoes was 60-65 taka per kg. Yesterday, potatoes were sold at 70-75 taka in three retail markets in Dhaka, depending on the quality. Accordingly, the price of potatoes has increased by up to 15 taka per kg in three weeks.

In the space of a month, the price of loose soybean oil has increased by Tk 16-17 per liter and the price of peeled palm oil by Tk 13.
ONION PRICES HAVE DROPPED
After being high in the market for some time, onion prices have dropped this week. Yesterday, local onions were sold at Tk 120-130 per kg and imported onions at Tk 100-105 per kg in various markets in Dhaka. Broiler chicken has been selling at 190 taka per kg for quite some time. It was sold at the same price yesterday as well. However, the price of golden chicken has increased by 10-15 taka per kg compared to last week. Apart from this, the price of farm chicken eggs was also unchanged at 145-150 taka per dozen like the previous week.
As the supply of winter vegetables in the market increased, the prices have also started to fall. Three weeks ago, beans were sold at 230-240 taka per kg.
