Only elected parliament can decide who will be the President: Farroque

Calling to arrange elections by holding respect to power gained from the mass-uprising, BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Zainul Abdin Farroque today said that only elected parliament can decide who will be the President of the country.

He said these in front of the Jatiya Press Club on Thursday (October 31) at a symbolic stand program demanding the restoration of public holidays on National Revolution and Solidarity Day.

“Sheikh Hasina has destroyed the country’s election system and Constitution,” said Zainul Abdin Farroque, commenting that “Tarique Rahman will become the Prime Minister” of this country through a fair election.

Stating that the party men have to be vigilant as per Tarique Rahman’s instructions, Farroque said that “conspiracy has resumed” in the country. “Awami League should be watched so that it does not cause any chaos,”  he added.

At this time, Zainul Abdin Farroque praised yesterday’s speech of the Chief Adviser. “We applaud Dr. Yunus for saying that Awami League and Sheikh Hasina have no place in the country’s politics,” he said, demanding to declare November 7 as a holiday.
