Painter Javed Jalil’s second solo exhibition titled “Synthetic Reality” has been extended till 24 August.
The exhibition was inaugurated at “Kalakendra” in the capital’s Lalmatia area on 12 July. The show was supposed to be concluded on 27 July.
Javed Jalil is a regular artist of “Kalakendra”. He is the responsible for every detail of the exhibition, from selecting the pieces to arranging the lighting and placement. He is also the curator of the exhibition.
According to Javed Jalil, “Synthetic in this exhibition is a deduction relating more to the thinking mind and thought activity patterns, questioning whether thinking itself is artificial. Where reality consists of micro fragments of situations, moments engulf us in a rapture of impulse and aggression, an emotive urge, and a longing to be still. It’s an absurd restlessness with our thoughts.”
The exhibition will remain open to all at Kalakendra from 4:00pm to 8:00pm every day.
Born 4 November 1969 in Dhaka, Javed Jalil is noted painter of the country. He exhibits his work in many renowned galleries in the country and abroad, including Losangeles Photographic Center, USA, Glendale College Gallery, Losangeles, USA, Gallery Alliance Franca se De Dhaka, Café Mango Gallery in Dhaka, Shilpangan Art Gallery, Dhaka and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
