State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that online gambling has taken a terrible form in the country. About 50 lakh people in the country are addicted to online gambling. Families are being destroyed due to gambling. The country’s money is being smuggled. These cannot be accepted. These must be stopped.

He said this at a round table meeting on ‘ICT and Mental Health’ organized by the Department of Information and Communication Technology at the ICT Tower on Thursday.

The state minister said that platforms like Facebook, TikTok, X and WhatsApp are responsible for harassing people on social media by making cyber bullying, and deepfake videos. These organizations are criminal. They will be discussed with the government.

He also said that everyone should be careful of these evils of technology. As many benefits as technology has, we should make ourselves efficient by using them.
