A pedestrian was killed in a road accident at Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Arab Ali, 55, son of late Momir Hossain of Birpasha Uttarpara under Budhanti union in the upazila,

According to police and eyewitness, Arab Ali was taking rest beside the Dhaka-Sylhet highway after finishing his morning walk around 6 AM on Saturday when a sand-carrying truck ran over him and overturned into a roadside ditch.  Aram Ali was killed on the spot.

Brahmanbaria Highway Police Station officer-in-charge Touhidul Islam confirmed the incident and added that the body is in process of being sent to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
