BNP Standing Committee Member and former State Minister for Power Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said, “People of Bangladesh had been remained in prison like situation for about 16 years during the Awami League regime as they (people) had no rights to speak truth. They had lost rights to get justice because of establishing extrajudicial killing culture. But now, justice of all injustices done by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be executed on the soil of this Bangla.”

The former minister Tuku made the remarks, while addressing as chief guest in a public rally organized by the upazila BNP at Konabari High School ground in Kamarkhanda upazila of Sirajganj district on Sunday noon.

He further said, “Hasina siphoned crores of Taka abroad after plundering through corruption and irregularities in the name of several development projects. With the amount of her looting, it was possible to construct 100 more Padma Bridge! All of the looted money was on loan, which has now a mountain like burden for the country’s people. Due to her corruption, anomalies and plundering, Bangladeshis will have to pay for over 100 years.”

Tuku also said, “Sheikh Hasina has taken a revenge on the country’s people after coming on power. She was the main behind the syndicate members, who were responsible for the unbridled price hike of essential commodities. She has made the country like a crematory. She has destroyed the police administration and judiciary system of the country. Now, she has engaged in various conspiracies by sitting in India. She is trying to come back on power through narrow way. But, people of this independent country will not give her such opportunities again.”

“BNP will not form government alone, if it gets victory. It will form a national government in collaboration with the students and public, who carried out demonstration during the July-August uprising to oust the autocratic government. We will bring back the people’s rights in the country by implementing 31 points of outlines through a structural reform;” he said adding that, “Shaheed Ziaur Rahman worked for people. Like him, his elder son Tarique Rahman is committed to work for people. Bangladesh will turn into a develop country shortly, if BNP comes on power. Country will go ahead with the leadership of Begum Zia and Tarique Rahman undoubtedly.

The programme was presided over by Kamarkhanda upazila BNP President Badiuzzaman Ferdous, while district BNP President and former Member of Parliament (MP) Rumana Mahmud, former Upazila Parishad Chairman and district BNP Vice-President Bir Freedom Fighter Professor Abdul Aziz Sarker, district BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, district Sechchasebok Dal Convener Abdullah Al Kayes, BNP Vice President Amar Krisna Das,  Senior Join General Secretary Shamim Khan, Joint General Secretary Nur Kayum Sabuj, Organizing Secretary Abu Sayeed Sweet and BNP leader Rajesh among others were also present in the event.
