BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the people are looking forward to the election. If the Election Commission works properly, national elections are possible in June-July, not December. However, People’s distrust to the interim government will arise if it is delayed.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a meeting and prayer program with the families of those injured in Rajshahi and martyred in Chapainawabganj during the student uprising due to the firing by law enforcement forces during the fascist Hasina regime. The event was held at Bhuban Mohan Park in Rajshahi on Friday. The organization named ‘We are the BNP family’ organized this program.

Rizvi said, “We consider the interim government to be a caretaker government and we think that this government will hold the national election. There will be no other election before the national election.”

He also said, “No matter what anyone says, if the Election Commission works properly and the government has the goodwill, elections are possible on time.”
