Pilot Asim Jawwad laid to eternal rest

The burial of Pilot Asim Jawwad Rifat, who died in the crash of an Air Force training aircraft in the Karnaphuli River of Chattogram, has been completed.

Pilot Asim Jawwad was buried at Seota Cemetery in Manikganj on Friday (May 10) afternoon.

Earlier, the helicopter carrying Asim Jawwad’s body landed at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium at around 12:15 pm. Airmen later brought down his coffin. After that, a Guard of Honour was given to the deceased Pilot Asim Jawwad. Later, his third Namaz-e-Janaza was held at Shaheed Miraj-Tapan Stadium at around 2:15 pm.

Pilot Asim Jawwad’s body was accompanied by his father Dr. Amanullah, wife Antara Akhtar, and two children arrived by helicopter. Relatives including his mother Nilufa Khanum burst into tears after seeing the helicopter carrying her deceased son.

Mentioned that Pilot Asim Jawwad died while undergoing treatment at Isa Khan Hospital (Navy Hospital) in Banauja, Patenga on Thursday (May 9). Earlier, a training fighter plane named Yak-130 of Bangladesh Air Force crashed on that day around 10:30 am. Later, the aircraft crashed into the Karnaphuli River near the Chattogram Boat Club.
