A Dhaka court granted bail on Monday to film actress Pori Moni and her costume designer, Junayed Karim Jimmy, in connection with a case involving threats and an attempted murder of businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud.

Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Junaid approved it after the actress and her costume designer surrendered before the court with a plea for bail, said Pori Moni’s lawyer Nilanjana Rifat Surovi.

Earlier on Sunday, the court issued arrest warrants for Pori Moni and Junayed Karim Jimmy after they were absent during the charge framing. A time plea filed on their behalf was rejected, and the court proceeded to frame charges and order the commencement of their trial.

On July 6, 2022, businessman Nasir Uddin filed the case against actress Pori Moni and her costume designer Jimmy in court.
