A press conference was held in Raiganj of Sirajganj to protest against Jamaat-Shibir propaganda.
The press conference was held at the Dhangara party office organized by the Upazila BNP and Municipal BNP at around 3:00 pm on Saturday.
Former General Secretary of Upazila BNP VP Aynul Haque read out a written statement at the conference.
In his written statement, he said that, “A special quarters has been involved with spreading various types of propaganda against Ikbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Member of BNP’s standing committee and former state minister for power to tarnish his image. Tuku is not involved with the politics of Jamat-Shibir. So, we condemn and protest such as propaganda.”
District BNP member Rahid Mannan Lelin, District BNP Advisor Eng. Md. Kamal Hossain, former Joint General Secretary of Raiganj Upazila BNP Md. Dulal Hossain Khan and former President of Raiganj Upazila BNP Md. Shamsul Haque among others were also present in the event.
At the press conference, BNP leaders and activists strongly condemned and protested the incident and demanded trial against the culprits.
