Entertainment Desk:
Lux star Prosun Azad may have stepped back from the limelight, but her passion for acting remains as strong as ever. These days, her life revolves around family, children and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The actress opened up about the challenges, joys and ambitions that shape her world.
Prosun has recently given birth to her second child, which has been causing her a number of health issues. “I’m dealing with severe back pain,” she admits. “Only mothers who’ve had C-sections can truly understand this. I had two cesareans in a row and my body can’t handle it anymore. I urge to-be mothers to try for a normal delivery, if possible, even if it’s difficult. In my case, my weight made it impossible, but I wanted to.”
Despite the physical strain, Prosun’s spirits are lifted by her children. “Even though I’m tired, the moment I see my two kids, all fatigue disappears. I feel like running around more. Managing them is a challenge. I usually like to go out with Farzad and Fawad’s father every Saturday, and leave the kids with their grandparents. I even tried hiring help but reliable support is hard to find.”
Her work life is equally hands-on. “I run an online business and my husband helps with logistics as my business needs to supply 400 to 500 parcels a month. But I’m responsible for the most part. I work late at night when the kids sleep. But him and I remain close as good friends.”
On love and marriage, Prosun reflects with honesty. “Love changes after marriage. Effort is required to keep the spark alive. Many think that once married, you don’t need to check in on each other; but my husband still treats me with the same care as when I lived with my parents.”
She’s also candid about her temper. “I can be emotional but my husband, Farhan, is calm and diplomatic. If I make hasty decisions in anger, he opts to wait it out. He understands the reason behind my feelings and helps me think logically before acting.”
Freedom, for Prosun, is more than a personal concept; it’s a philosophy. “To me, freedom means expressing myself, taking action and living my life without harming anyone physically, mentally or emotionally and not even financially.”
Prosun has expressed interest in becoming a producer and previously worked as an assistant to Giasuddin Selim. She has also been to Australia and announced a film production. However, rumours shrouded her Australia tour, proclaiming that the strings of a relationship took her there.
“I didn’t go to Australia because of any relationship,” Prosun clarifies. “I went there to represent my country. The trip was funded by the Bangladeshi the government. And the relationship in question developed during that time.”
Regarding production, she said, “I would only involve an investor, who might take a share of the income, but it won’t be driven by profit. If someone approaches me sincerely, I might support the project as a producer.”
Though she has stepped back from acting, her creative ambitions have not faded. “I want to take roles that challenge me, that I can feel proud of even a month later. I dream of playing unconventional characters: a thief, a beggar or even a shooter. I want work that feeds my mind, not just fills my schedule.”
Reflecting on her past, she credits her husband for her growth. “If I’ve learned anything meaningful in life, it’s from him. He has been my greatest support after my parents.”
Health challenges, including thyroid issues and constant fatigue, have not stopped her from staying active. “I could rest, but I choose to keep busy. Running my business, cooking, raising my children is what keeps my life moving. It’s a balance of mind and body.”
Despite gaining weight and being selective about roles, Prosun remains hopeful. “Most offers these days don’t excite me, but I want projects that make me feel alive. Acting is my love and I’ll return when the right role comes along.”
Prosun’s story is one of resilience, love and a steadfast passion for her craft; a reminder that even in the busiest chapters of life, the heart still yearns for creativity.
