‘Our Chowhali Group’ of Facebook

A complaint has been intensified about the leakage of question over the SSC English first paper in Chowhali Upazila of Sirajganj district within the 20 minutes of starting examination on Tuesday.
The leakage question paper was also uploaded to a group called ‘Our Chowhali Group’ on social media Facebook.
The matter spread quickly on social media, and the Chowhali Upazila administration fell into trouble over the issue. After that, the Chowhali Upazila administration took action and removed the uploaded question paper from the group around 11:00 am.
When the issue started to stir locally, Chowhali Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Mostafizur Rahman ordered the OC to take action under the ICT Act against the group’s admin Monirul Islam.
The accused and ‘Amader Chowhali Group’ admin Monirul Islam is a resident of Khaspukuria village in the Chowhali Upazila. He currently works in a Dhaka based company. He has been managing the group for the past 10 years.
On the other hand, although there was uproar among the participating examinees and guardians regarding the issue of question leakage through ‘Amader Chowhali Group’, the UNO itself claimed that the exam was not affected.
He said, “We are not yet sure whether the question was uploaded from Chowhali or from some other place. Law enforcement agencies have been asked to confirm the matter.
Sakhawat Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chowhali Police Station said, “The matter is being investigated. The case is under process according to ICT Act.”
Monirul Islam, admin of ‘Our Chowhali Group’, said, ‘A person named Sanjida posted the SSC English first paper question in the group at 10:20 am.
Later, he himself deleted his post. I have not yet found out who the ID named Sanjida belongs to. The ID may be fake. However, the matter is embarrassing.’
Ariful Islam, Examination Controller of the Board of Secondary and Higher Education, Rajshahi, said at 4:00 pm, ‘The Chowhali Upazila Nirbahi Officer informed me about the uploading of SSC English first paper questions in a Facebook group. It was not said who uploaded it from the examination hall or centre or from anywhere else, for what purpose, or what action the local administration is taking against them. If anyone from the examination hall or centre is involved, the board will take action, otherwise the local administration will take action.”
“But, the examination has not been affected by it in any way” he added.
